Economics Major

The economics major is a good foundation. It is considered to be the science of business. It is a social science because it focuses on the prediction and analyzing of firms, governments, and individual behaviors.

The economics major is pretty much worthless by itself. There aren't a lot of jobs for a BS or BA in economics. The economics major should have additional graduate study with a major emphasis in statistics and computer science. Economics Phd graduates with statistics and computer science backgrounds will have the best job prospects.

It is also common for economics majors to go on and get an MBA. Since economics is the science of business it is a good fit.
